HEAD COACH

Coach Olivia Watkins was hired summer of 2026 as the eighth softball coach in FIU program history. She spent the previous four years at Duke as an assistant and later associate head coach, helping the Blue Devils to a 184-56 record, four straight NCAA Regional appearances they hosted, a 2024 ACC regular-season and tournament sweep, and the program’s first Women’s College World Series berth.

Across 11 seasons with stops at FIU, Duke, Boston College, Dartmouth and Illinois she has reached seven Regionals and three conference titles. Her expertise includes base running, slap-hitting and defense. After a record-setting career at Western Kentucky, she went on to play five seasons professionally in the NPF at the Akron Racers, Pennsylvania Rebellion, and Scrapyard Dawgs, where she helped the Dawgs win their 2017 National Championship title.
